Series Rules

General:

• Each Contest in the 2007 Interclub HLG Series will comprise 8 flight tasks. These tasks will be determined by the Contest Director for the event. Whenever possible, the tasks for Series Contest will be released on the C2VM ,MATS, ORCC-G as well as the other various Ottawa egroups.
  

• All scoring will be flown man on man and normalized.

• A 10 second flight bonus may be awarded for hand catching of the model by the pilot. This at the discretion of the Contest Director for the event.

• Flight time commences when the model leaves the pilot’s hand and ends when the model comes in contact with any land based object.

• There is no restriction on the number of planes a pilot may fly during a round or a contest, provided all planes are operated on the pilot’s registered frequency.

• All launches and landings must be made with the both the pilot's feet within in the HLG field boundaries, the corners of which will be marked by orange cones. All flights which originate or terminate outside these HLG field boundaries will be given a zero score. All models coming to rest with only a portion on the airframe inside the HLG field boundaries will be considered to be in.

• Any launch made before the official signal starting the window will not count (0 points). Any landings made after the official signal ending the window will not count (0 points).

• Mid-air collisions will receive no re-flight consideration.

• All pilots are responsible for launching their own model. Only the following launch methods will be accepted:
  A-   javelin style launch
  B-   side arm or discus style launch
  C-   with the aid of a calibrated bungee should this be accepted by the Contest Director for the event.
  

• Warm up and test flights will be allowed only between rounds. The Contest Director or his designate must be advised of the need of a warm up/test period before the end of the preceding round. A minimum of 5 minutes will be allotted for preparation between rounds. 

• The Contest Director or his designate will have the final say on launches, landings and field boundaries.

 Safety:

• To ensure the safety of all participants;
  
  -Prior to the start of the contest, all participants who intend to utilize the 'side arm' or 'discus' style launch must be able to demonstrate to the Contest Director their ability to safely do so.
  
  -It is the launching pilot's responsibility to ensure he has sufficient room to safely launch and land his model. Any pilot who hits another pilot or timer with his plane while launching or landing will receive a "0" for the flight.

 Models:

• All unpowered RC models with a wingspan not exceeding 1.5 m will be judged eligible for this contest.

• Models must be controlled by Radio Control acting on an unlimited number of surfaces.

• Wingspan cannot exceed 1.5m and determination of a model's eligibility will be made during registration as per the series' approved method as described here.

Series Champion:

• To determine the Series Champion, the best three Contest scores will be added together to arrive at a flyer's 'Series Score'. The pilot with the highest 'Series Score' (accumulated score) from any three of the four scheduled 2006 series contests will be the 2007 Interclub HLG Series Champion.
• In the event of a tie, a "fly off" event will be flown, the details of which are to be determined at a later date.

Entry Fees:

• The entry fee for any of the 2007 Interclub HLG Series events is 5$ per participant.
